Fort Huachuca Visitor Access
Beginning August 3, 2015, visitors aged 18 and older to Fort Huachuca who do not already have a recognized access badge, will need to complete an Access Request Form and submit to a background check in order to get a 30-day visitor badge. The 30-day visitor access requests will be processed at the Van Deman Gate (East Gate); plan to allow 15-30 minutes for the background check. Location and Directions
New driving directions beginning August 3, 2015!
Fort Huachuca is an active military installation and specific entrance requirements are enforced. US citizens are allowed on the Fort after applying for access and submitting to a background check. Driving directions are provided below. If you are meeting the bander at the Van Deman Gate, be sure to get there 10 minutes early. The Main Gate is now closed on the weekends.
Banding at Fort Huachuca takes place outside of the Public Affairs Office, Building 21115, Brayton Hall, on Adair Street across from the bandstand at the upper end of Brown Parade Field. If you’re using a navigation tool or application, enter your final destination as Adair Street, Sierra Vista, AZ.
At the intersection of Arizona Highway 90 to the North, Highway 90 Bypass to the East, Buffalo Soldier Trail to the South, and Hatfield Street to the West, drive west on Hatfield toward the Van Deman Gate (East Gate). If necessary, apply for a visitor access badge and submit to a background check at the Van Deman facilities. Continue west on Hatfield for about 3 miles to Smith Ave. and then turn right on to Smith Ave. At about 0.25 mi, pass through the traffic circle and take the second exit which keeps you on Smith Ave. Continue on Smith Ave. 0.15 mi to a 4-way stop light. Turn left at the light onto Christy Ave. Continue on Christy Ave. for 0.6 miles to Adair Rd on the left. Turn left on Adair, drive up to the second building on the right (the Public Affairs Office) and park parallel to the curb on either side of the street.
